Every desktop or notebook or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software which communicates with the hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse or a printer, along with any apps that are present on your system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a web server, any app runs within the parameters defined by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, and so on. This goes for both standard website scripts and server-side software such as a media server. If a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two separate Operating Systems, named guest OS and host OS, which means that you will be able to set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

We provide three different Linux distributions for the Operating System of our VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are among the most stable and reliable OSs available and we offer all three instead of only one as we realize that you might want to set up some software that has specific requirements regarding the Operating System it shall run on. The latter is because each of the three Operating Systems has a vast support community behind it and there're various software applications you can install on the web hosting server. Your OS choice will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be installed on the VPS if you wish to use one and because of this we offer multiple Control Panels too. In the event you decide that you need another OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the current one and install the one that you'd like. We also offer an optional service to keep the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated server plans that we offer come with three different Operating Systems to select from. They are all Linux release - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license taxes, but they are also regarded as the most stable and risk-free OSs. We supply three different ones as each of them is supported by a different community. The packages that you can add on your server are different and this could matter in case you want to install some piece of software with particular requirements regarding the hosting environment. In this light, the hosting Control Panel that you can select for the dedicated server is also determined by the OS that you will select. You can pick any of the three Operating Systems throughout the order procedure, but if needed, we can always set up the server anew with another one upon your request. As an optional service that you could add to the package at any moment, we can update your OS regularly to keep it as secure as possible.
